The Clydesdale BFG Sport Hybrid 36er is our most popular big and tall bike with 36 inch wheels and a riser bar for a comfortable upright riding position. This bike is big, fast, and stable, and can handle the tallest guys out there.
The BFG is aptly named the Big Friendly Giant and is built specifically with very tall riders in mind. The BFG Sport Hybrid 36er features 36 inch wheels making it fully proportional for guys up to 7’5″ tall. The BFG is a fantastic bike for dominating the city streets of any urban zone, cruising along the coastline bike paths, or even getting out for a mountain road or gravel ride. This titanium 36er bike is built with a riser bar and performance comfort seat for a sporty hybrid and fitness style bike. We build this big guy bike with hydraulic disc brakes, a stout carbon fiber fork, and handbuilt bombproof wheels. This bike is made for all types of riding including commuting to work, fitness riding, beach cruising, and road/gravel riding. These titanium bikes for big guys are built super tough and custom fit for riders 6’5″ to 7’5″. The BFG also comes with proportional length cranks for optimal pedaling efficiency, and extra wide handlebars to fit broad shoulders. The wheels are custom built right here at our shop in Boulder, Colorado using our own Clydesdale hubs that are rated for riders up to 450lbs! We build these wheels using 36 double butted spokes per wheel and DT swiss brass pro-lock nipples to keep your wheels true for many miles. Each wheel is precision built by professional wheelbuilders in our shop using high-tech spoke wrenches, wheel building stands, and spoke tension meters.
Semi-Custom for a perfect fit
Clydesdale bikes use set frame sizes, with fit adjustments tailored to the rider. Rather than building a custom frame, we work from your fit requirements and select from the components we keep in stock.
- Fit adjustments: We customize crank length, stem length and angle, spacer stack, saddle width, and handlebar selection based on your fit.
- Accent colors: You can choose colors for the headset, spacers, and seat binder, plus handlebar tape on builds that use it.
- Wheels and tires: We select a wheelset and tires suited to your type of riding. We offer several tire options; contact us for the current selection.
- Frame Color: Frames come in bare titanium with anodized graphics. You can pay extra to have the bike painted any color you want. Please ask us for pricing on a custom paint job.
Frame size is the starting point. These adjustments let us tailor the bike’s contact points to you. After you place your order, we’ll send instructions for submitting your measurements or arranging an in-person bike fit.
